Judge doubles bail for Andrew Steele after prosecutors say he planned homicides

The assertion was made for in a motion to increase bail for Andrew P. Steele, 39, who is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the Aug. 22 shooting deaths of Ashlee Steele, 39, and Kacee Tollefsbol, 38, at the Steeles' Fitchburg home.

Steele also signed his will and his wife's will within 36 hours of the homicides, Raymond wrote, "showing that he had a timeline for the homicides." She added that Steele had communicated with his parents about care for the Steeles' two children if Ashlee Steele were no longer around.

Tollefsbol was shot in the back, while Ashlee Steele was shot in the head and strangled, having bruising on both carotid arteries. A criminal complaint notes that a black zip tie was found fastened tightly around her neck.
