Abstract:
A defensive applique armor for protecting a substrate which may be exposed o attack by projectiles. The armor comprises one or more cast metal plates of predetermined thickness which have slotted holes of various sizes and designs. The slotted holes are cast at obliquity. To the slotted, cast metal armor an optional thin, cast metal layer may be added. Said layer may be positioned either within or external to the cast armor plate. The invention encompasses both the armor and the process of making the same.
