Originally from Westchester County, New York, I was a corporate transferee while working at the IBM Corporation and decided to make the move to beautiful New Fairfield, Connecticut, one of five towns surrounding Candlewood Lake. Over the years, we have been involved in our community in many ways including PTO, Parks & Rec, the NFHS Booster Club, St. Edward the Confessor Church, the Community Service Club, and coached every sport imaginable. Our children graduated from the public schools and went on to graduating from excellent colleges and have started their lives. We are still in town and truly enjoy it. New Fairfield is a wonderful community located in western Connecticut just over the New York border and is a great place to live. If you commute into New York, it is only 60 miles from Manhattan, 15 minutes to Metro North trains, minutes from major highways (NY 684 & CT 84), 40 minutes to Westchester County Airport, 70 minutes to LaGuardia airport, close to major corporations (BI, GE, IBM, Pepsi, etc), and minutes to retail shopping at Federal Road, Mill Plain Road, Route 7 & the Danbury Fair Mall. New Fairfield is easy to access without ever getting onto Interstate 84, Candlewood Lake, Ball Pond & Squantz Pond are major highlights in town and our taxes are low, too!
