Abstract:
A portable solar energy generation system has a solar energy receiver having a plurality of solar cells for converting solar energy into a DC voltage. A solar tracking mechanism enables the solar energy receiver to track a position of the sun with respect to the solar cells and to position the solar cells responsive thereto. Power circuitry generates at least one output voltage to power an electronic device responsive to the DC voltage. A housing contains each of the solar energy receiver, the solar tracking mechanism and the power circuitry in a portable configuration.

Abstract:
A system for managing a group of charging stations for at least one electric vehicle, comprises a central electric vehicle charger controller for controlling system operation. A plurality of charging units communicates with the central electric vehicle charger controller. A database associated with the central electric vehicle charger controller storing charger data on each of the plurality of charging units. A first interface within the central electric vehicle charger controller enables communication between the central electric vehicle charger controller and the plurality of charging units for charging the at least one electric vehicle. A second interface within the central electric vehicle charger controller enables communications between the central electric vehicle charger controller and a plurality of mobile charging applications enables finding of locations of at least one of the plurality of charging units and makes reservations with the at least one of the plurality of charging units. A charger locator controller on the central electric vehicle charger controller performs real-time determination of a closest charging unit of the plurality of charging units to the at least one electric vehicle responsive to the charger data and a current position of the at least one electric vehicle. A reservation controller on the central electric vehicle charger controller enables a user of one of the plurality of mobile charging applications to select the closest charging unit and makes a reservation with the closest charging unit at a selected time period.

Abstract:
A portable, solar energy charger, comprises a plurality of panels. Each panel contains at least one solar cell for generating electrical energy responsive to solar energy. Each of the plurality of panels are interconnected to enable the plurality of panels to be folded on top of each other in a single stack in a closed configuration and to be unfolded to receive sunlight in an open configuration. A connector connects each of the plurality of panels to at least one other panel of the plurality of panels. The connector provides both a mechanical connection and an electrical connection between panels. The connector enables a first panel to be folded on top of a second panel and protect the at least one solar cells on the first panel and the second panel between the first panel and the second panel. A securing mechanism maintains the plurality of panels together in the closed configuration when the panels are folded on each other.

A modular power backup system has a plurality of smart battery packs for storing electrical energy. Each of the plurality of smart battery packs includes a first power and control connector. A battery pack rack defines a plurality of slots for holding the plurality of smart battery packs. Each of the plurality of slots includes a second power and control connector for interconnecting with the first power and control connector of a smart battery pack of the plurality of smart battery packs. First control circuitry associated with the at least one battery pack rack selectively pools electrical energy from the plurality of smart battery packs into one or more electrical energy outputs.
