Control Apparatus

View page
US Patent:
43845746, May 24, 1983
Filed:
Dec 1, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/211728
Inventors:
Albert Wong - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
A61F 1300
US Classification:
128133
Abstract:
An apparatus used to control human beings through the application of localized pressure to their body and appendages. The claimed apparatus has a substantially straight, elongated first arm, and spaced therefrom and generally parallel thereto, a curved, elongated second arm. A member connects together one end of the first arm to the adjacent end of the second arm. The first arm extends beyond the second arm and a blunting element is fixedly secured to the free-end. The second arm has a curved midportion which curves downward and extends toward the first arm to a distance from the first arm sufficient to receive an appendage. An upwardly curved end portion of the second arm connects the curved midportion to the connecting member, and attached to the end of the curved midportion remote from the connecting member is an upwardly curved free-end portion. The free-end portion has a free-end section which extends in a direction generally away from the connecting member and downward toward the first arm to a distance from the first arm greater than the distance between the curved midportion and the first arm. The apparatus is formed as a unitary structure from a continuous band of flat material.

International Classification:
A01B 102
A01B 706
US Classification:
5640004

Modular Computer Assembly

View page
US Patent:
52240193, Jun 29, 1993
Filed:
Jan 8, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/818031
Inventors:
Albert C. Wong - Laguna Hills CA
Robert D. Kutnick - Sharon MA
Assignee:
Amkly Systems, Inc. - Irvine CA
International Classification:
H05K 700
US Classification:
361393
Abstract:
A modular computer chassis comprises a main chassis to which a motherboard is attached and a subchassis attachable to the main chassis. The subchassis is capable of having at least one computer component attached thereto such that the computer component is electrically connected to the motherboard. The computer component is thus separable from the main chassis by removing the subchassis from the main chassis. The subchassis contains those computer components subject to mechanical wear and most often requiring replacement, i. e. the power supply and disk drives. The subchassis is mechanically connected to the main chassis by using slots and tabs such that when the cover is in place upon the computer, then the subchassis is secured therein. The subchassis and the computer components disposed thereon thus form a module which is conveniently removable and replaceable such that those computer components most frequently requiring service is quickly removed and replaced by a person unskilled in computer repair.

Protective Enclosures Having Self-Contained Air Supply

View page
US Patent:
45021570, Mar 5, 1985
Filed:
May 27, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/267505
Inventors:
Albert H. Wong - Los Angeles CA
Assignee:
Wong Technology, Inc. - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
A42B 104
US Classification:
2202
Abstract:
A protective enclosure fabricated from a clear, flexible, plastic material that, in the event of an emergency, is easily positionable over at least the head of a wearer to protect the wearer from the adverse effects of a contaminated environment, such as that filled with smoke or similar noxious fumes. The enclosure is provided with an opened side for receiving therethrough the head of the wearer. The ends of the enclosure which define the opened side thereof are structured so as to generally conform to the shape of a human chest. The aforementioned ends which define the opened side are provided with fastening means by which the opened side may, be secured to the chest of the wearer in order to form an airtight fit therebetween and thereby close the opened end against the chest and around the neck of the wearer. Hence, a relatively low cost, reliable, and easily operable protective enclosure is provided that can be folded and conveniently placed in a pouch for either storage or distribution, such as to the occupants of a high-rise building or to passengers of an airplane for use in the event of fire, or similar catastrophe.

Twin Collar Protective Enclosure

View page
US Patent:
54110173, May 2, 1995
Filed:
Dec 17, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/169584
Inventors:
Albert H. Wong - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
A62B 710
US Classification:
12820125
Abstract:
A compact and easy-to-use protective enclosure having normally open opposite ends and an identical elastic collar surrounding each end. The enclosure is sized to extend between the head and neck of the wearer and provide a self-contained supply of air from which to breathe when it is desirable to isolate the eyes, nose and ears of the wearer from a hostile environment. The first end of the enclosure is closed against the wearer's neck by the elastic collar surrounding the first end, and the opposite end of the enclosure is closed against the wearer's head by the elastic collar surrounding the opposite end. The first and opposite ends of the enclosure may be tightened around the head and neck of the wearer by pulling on respective attachment straps affixed to the collars so as to correspondingly reduce the areas within such ends. The enclosure is provided with optional filters covered by tear-off strips that may be removed when the enclosure is worn in a non-poisonous environment.

Capture And Restraining Device

View page
US Patent:
43866050, Jun 7, 1983
Filed:
Sep 15, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/187587
Inventors:
Albert Wong - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
A61F 537
US Classification:
128134
Abstract:
A capture and restraining device having two poles, at least one flexible strand extending between the poles, and retainers secured to the poles for slidably connecting the flexible strand to the poles. In one of the disclosed embodiments, the device has two strands forming continuous, closed loops. The first strand has two overlapping segments which run between the poles and two non-overlapping segments which run between the poles. The second strand has two non-overlapping segments which run between the poles and intertwine with the non-overlapping segments of the first strand. Each retainer includes a clasp fixedly secured to the pole and a ring through which the clasp and one or more of the flexible strands pass. The clasps may be releasable for releasably securing the rings to the poles. The device may further include straps with hand loops attached to the poles.

Protective Enclosure Having Self-Contained Air Supply

View page
US Patent:
45546835, Nov 26, 1985
Filed:
Jan 21, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/226920
Inventors:
Albert H. Wong - Los Angeles CA
Assignee:
Wong Technology, Inc. - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
A42B 104
US Classification:
2202
Abstract:
A protective enclosure fabricated from a clear, flexible, plastic material that, in the event of an emergency, is easily positionable over the head and upper body of a wearer to protect the wearer from the adverse effects of a contaminated environment, such as that filled with smoke or similar noxious fumes. The top of the enclosure is sealed by a reinforced, relatively stiff closure member. Accordingly, an airspace containing a reserve air supply from which the wearer may breathe is created around the wearer's head. The bottom of the enclosure contains a fastener by which the enclosure may be securely tightened around the waist of the wearer. Each side of the enclosure includes an arm port through which the wearer's arms may extend. The arm ports are interfaced with an elastic material which is adapted to form an airtight seal around the wearer's arms when the arms are inserted therethrough. The protective enclosure may optionally have one or more filtering assemblies established therein through which the wearer may breathe in the event that the reserve air supply becomes exhausted.
