Cargo Transfer Assembly Associated With A Passenger Boarding Bridge

View page
US Patent:
7334282, Feb 26, 2008
Filed:
Feb 24, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/065399
Inventors:
Albert Wiseman - Tarpon Springs FL, US
Lee Webb - Wilmington OH, US
International Classification:
E01D 1/00
US Classification:
14 713
Abstract:
A cargo transfer assembly structured to move baggage, handicapped vehicles such as wheelchairs, and other cargo between a passenger boarding bridge and the tarmac, ground or other supporting surface on which the boarding bridge is positioned. A lifting assembly having a lift apron and a lift tray connected thereto is movable between a raised position and a lowered position. A mobile cart structured to carry the cargo thereon is removably mounted on the lift tray and movable therewith in accessible relation to the boarding bridge and the supporting surface when in the raised position and lowered position respectively. A leveling assembly is disposed and structured to align the lift tray with the support surface when in the lowered position and with a corresponding portion of the base of the boarding bridge, when the lift tray is in the raised position.

Loading Pallet For Aircraft Cargo Containers

View page
US Patent:
49291335, May 29, 1990
Filed:
Apr 14, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/338039
Inventors:
Albert D. Wiseman - Wilmington OH
Assignee:
Airborne Express, Inc. - Wilmington OH
International Classification:
B64C 120
B60P 306
US Classification:
410 52
Abstract:
A cargo pallet for use in loading and stowing relatively small wheeled cargo containers within the cargo bay of a cargo aircraft which is dimensioned to fit within the aircraft fuselage adjacent to the main cargo door and is provided with guide rails adjacent to its lateral edges, wherein at least one of the guide rails does not extend entirely along the edge, but has a gap to permit the wheeled containers to be rolled into the aircraft. The cargo pallet also has a removable center rail which is removed during loading and reinstalled to secure the final containers. Retractable side locks, located in the gap in the rail adjacent the main cargo door, are retracted during the loading operation to permit the containers to be loaded into the aircraft and extended to restrain the last loaded container, which is located adjacent to the main cargo door. The pallet is also provided with removable cargo stops to restrain the cargo containers in a fore-and-aft direction.

Aircraft Cargo Container

View page
US Patent:
47475048, May 31, 1988
Filed:
Jun 5, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/870815
Inventors:
Albert D. Wiseman - Wilmington OH
Bernard J. Roke - Wilmington OH
John M. Kachman - Wilmington OH
Gregg A. Delker - Wilmington OH
William F. Corcoran - Wilmington OH
Phillip A. Boshaw - Redmond WA
Gordon J. Sanden - Huntington Beach CA
Assignee:
Airborne Express, Inc. - Wilmington OH
International Classification:
B65D 8700
US Classification:
220 15
Abstract:
An aircraft cargo container having sides, inboard and outboard ends, a horizontal top and a horizontal bottom. The bottom is rectangular and provided with casters located in corner recesses. The inboard end and both sides of the container are substantially vertical, while the outboard end substantially conforms to the curvature of the aircraft fuselage cabin cross section. The inboard and outboard ends are so sized that the container will freely pass through a standard left side passenger entry door. The sides are so dimensioned that when two containers are located end-to-end with their inboard ends opposed, they will substantially fill the aircraft fuselage cabin cross section with clearance between themselves and between themselves and the aircraft fuselage, so that a plurality of containers can be arranged within the aircraft in two longitudinal rows, the containers of each row having adjacent sides opposed. Each container has a door in one of its sides. The container bottom provides flanges along the container ends cooperating with side guide rails and a center guide rail assembly mounted in the aircraft.

Engine Noise Suppression Kit For The Nacelles Of A Jet Aircraft

View page
US Patent:
47519797, Jun 21, 1988
Filed:
May 16, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/735058
Inventors:
Albert D. Wiseman - Wilmington OH
Assignee:
Airborne Express, Inc. - Wilmington OH
International Classification:
F01N 124
US Classification:
181213
Abstract:
An engine noise suppression kit for use on the inside surfaces of the cowlings or doors of conventional jet aircraft nacelles surrounding the jet aircraft engines. Each nacelle cowling or door comprises a skin mounted on a framework made up of longitudinal stringers and transversely extending ribs or formers. The formers divide the inside surface of the nacelle cowlings or doors into bays surrounding the jet engine located within the nacelle. The kit comprises a plurality of sound attenuating modules adapted to be affixed to an adjacent pair of cowling or door formers and to span the bay defined thereby such that at least those bays surrounding the combuster chamber/turbine area of the jet engine are covered by said modules. Each module constitutes a sealed metallic basket comprising a pair of perforated metallic panels spaced from each other by a surrounding metallic framework. The facing surfaces of said metallic panels being covered by silicon rubber-coated glass cloth.
