Personal Washing Bar Having Adjacent Emollient Rich And Emollient Poor Phases

View page
US Patent:
6383999, May 7, 2002
Filed:
Dec 12, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/734802
Inventors:
Laurie Ann Coyle - Park Ridge NJ
Albert Joseph Post - Orange CT
Syed Husain Abbas - Seymour CT
Gail Beth Rattinger - Teaneck NJ
Michael Massaro - Congers NY
Harry Crookham - Lyndhurst NJ
Assignee:
Unilever Home Personal Care USA. division of Conopco, Inc. - Greenwich CT
International Classification:
A61K 750
US Classification:
510146, 510151, 510153, 510155
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multiphase cleansing bar having a plurality of phases of cleansing material. Adjacent phases preferably have different concentration levels of benefit components respectively and all the phases individually preferably have a substantially similar cleansing base consisting of a syndet base, a soap base, or mixtures thereof. These benefit components are emollients, moisturizers, nutrients, anti-aging materials etc. Segregation of the benefit rich component is expected to result in improved deposition of the benefit components on the skin during the product application, which improves the moisture barrier properties of the skin. Chemical and Theological compatibility between the phases is maximized and recycling of the product during production is facilitated with the use of a uniform cleansing base. Methods of producing the inventive bar by extruding and melt casting are also disclosed.

Mild Bar Compositions Comprising Blends Of Higher Melting Point Polyalkylene Glycol(S) And Lower Melting Point Polyalkylene Glycol(S) As Processing Aids

View page
US Patent:
56839731, Nov 4, 1997
Filed:
Feb 15, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/601917
Inventors:
Albert Joseph Post - Teaneck NJ
Frederick Silvio Osmer - Parsippany NJ
Michael Francis Petko - Mt. Vernon NY
Assignee:
Lever Brothers Company, Division of Conopco, Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
C11D 332
C11D 343
C11D 1700
US Classification:
510152
Abstract:
The present invention relates to bar compositions comprising a mixture of higher melting point and lower molecular weight (100 to about 1400) lower melting point polyalkylene glycol(s) in which use of the lower molecular weight polyalkylene glycol or glycols allows enhanced rates of extrusion from the plodder.

Liquid Detergent Compostions Containing Structuring Polymers For Enhanced Suspending Power And Good Pourability

View page
US Patent:
57504890, May 12, 1998
Filed:
Jan 18, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/591247
Inventors:
Rigoberto Felipe Garcia - Nutley NJ
Tirucherai Varahan Vasudevan - West Orange NJ
Albert Joseph Post - Teaneck NJ
Feng-Lung Gordon Hsu - Tenafly NJ
Assignee:
Lever Brothers Company, Division of Conopco, Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
C11D 1700
C11D 337
US Classification:
510417
Abstract:
The present invention relates to liquid detergent compositions comprising substantially linear, water soluble, highly salt-tolerant non-adsorbing, ionic polymers of MW 10,000 to 1,000,000 Daltons which, when added in defined minimum levels to structured heavy duty liquids, make the liquids highly shear thinning without decreasing pour viscosity of the composition or increasing it to a point where it is too thick. The compositions are also stable.

Bar Composition Comprising Copolymer Mildness Actives

View page
US Patent:
57863121, Jul 28, 1998
Filed:
Jun 12, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/662394
Inventors:
Albert Joseph Post - Teaneck NJ
Edward Van Gunst - Little Ferry NJ
Mengtao He - Wayne NJ
Michael Fair - Hackensack NJ
Michael Massaro - Congers NY
Assignee:
Lever Brothers Company, Division of Conopco, Inc. - New York NY
International Classification:
C11D 930
US Classification:
510152
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to mixed fatty acid soap based bar compositions, which may include synthetic surfactants as co-actives, wherein relatively small amounts of specified polyoxyethylene-polypropylene nonionic polymer has been found to enhance mildness and reduced mush of bar compositions without sacrificing the user properties and processability of the formulations.
