Mobile Bridge Cutting Arrangement

View page
US Patent:
6656014, Dec 2, 2003
Filed:
Mar 12, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/804115
Inventors:
Alan P. Aulson - Georgetown MA, 01833
International Classification:
B24C 306
US Classification:
451 2, 451 5, 451 8, 451 92, 83177, 83928
Abstract:
A mobile articulable cutter apparatus for the cutting and dismemberment of a building structure to permit the environmentally safe removal of such structure from a building site. The apparatus comprises a mobile base support having an articulable lift arm extending therefrom. The arm has a distal end thereon. A guidable cutter head is arranged on the distal end of the lift arm. A fluid jet is nozzle arranged in the cutter head. A pressurizable fluid source is arranged in fluid controlled communication with the nozzle. The nozzle is arranged to be in closely positioned guided travel adjacent the surface of the structure to be cut by a jet of fluid under pressure from the nozzle. The cutter head and nozzle is readily movable to a further cut location by the mobile base support after an initial segment of the structure has been removed.

Lead-Base Paint Control Arrangement For Frame Members Subject To Heavy Wear

View page
US Patent:
54541980, Oct 3, 1995
Filed:
Oct 1, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/130296
Inventors:
Alan P. Aulson - Georgetown MA
International Classification:
E06B 104
US Classification:
52211
Abstract:
An arrangement for safely covering lead-base paint painted trim surfaces typically found in older homes, by determining and recording the measurement and shape of the lead-base painted trim such as members subject to heavy, wear, tear and abuse, consisting of doorframes, window sills or the like, and cutting and shape forming to the trim's shape, a sheet of 18-gauge sheet aluminum. The shaped metal component is applied to the offending trim after a bead of adhesive has been applied thereto. Typically the metal component is of a U-shaped configuration, so as to cover the exposed 3 sides of the trim's surface.

US Patent:
55071228, Apr 16, 1996
Filed:
Nov 7, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/334968
Inventors:
Alan P. Aulson - Georgetown MA
International Classification:
B65F 300
US Classification:
52 791
Abstract:
A mobile trailer adapted to receive hazardous waste building products such as lead painted windows, doors, door frames, sills and the like. The trailer is lined to prevent escape of toxic air and dust. The trailer contains wood working machinery to plane and cut lead painted wood surfaces from the wood building material fed therein. The lead painted wood scraps are then encapsulated into compact bales, washed and stored within the trailer to await hauling by a waste haul service. The stripped wood once having had its lead paint surfaces cut away, is passed from the trailer.

Scaling Needle Gun Shroud

US Patent:
52673820, Dec 7, 1993
Filed:
Sep 4, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/939905
Inventors:
Alan P. Aulson - Georgetown MA
Thomas P. Higgins - Peabody MA
Loran E. Sullivan - Georgetown MA
International Classification:
B23D 7900
US Classification:
29 8114
Abstract:
A needle scaling device for environmentally safe removal of material such as lead paint or the like, from difficult to clean surfaces, such as bridges. The needle scaling device includes a plurality of reciprocably movable needles which strike the surface being treated, to chip away the paint. A cowling is disposed about the distal end of the device to enshroud the needles. The cowling has an annular array of bristles disposed on its distal end, to provide a flexible shroud and hence a containment plenum around the needles.
