Configuring An Electronic Device Using Artificial Intelligence

View page
US Patent:
20230018913, Jan 19, 2023
Filed:
Sep 26, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/935516
Inventors:
- Redmond WA, US
Bryston M. NITTA - Redmond WA, US
Shayak LAHIRI - Redmond WA, US
Adrian Francisco Teran GUAJARDO - Redmond WA, US
International Classification:
G06F 9/445
G06F 9/54
G06F 16/907
H04W 4/02
G06N 20/00
G06Q 10/06
G06N 3/10
Abstract:
The devices, systems, and methods described herein enable automatically configuring an electronic device using artificial intelligence (AI). The devices, systems, and methods enable accessing telemetry data representing device usage data, inputting the accessed telemetry data into machine learning models that are matched to device metadata, and determining notifications to publish to components of the electronic device. The notifications represent events predicted to occur on the electronic device. The notifications are published to the components of the electronic device such that the electronic device is configured according to the published notifications. The determined notifications enable the identification of optimal settings for the electronic device based on the usage pattern of the device and enable components of the electronic device to preemptively take action on events which are predicted to occur in the future.

Protecting Artificial Intelligence Models Using Virtual Secure Mode

View page
US Patent:
20200019697, Jan 16, 2020
Filed:
Jul 10, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/031715
Inventors:
- Redmond WA, US
Bryston Mitsuo NITTA - Redmond WA, US
Chen LIANG - Redmond WA, US
Adrian Francisco TERAN GUAJARDO - Redmond WA, US
Assignee:
Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLC - Redmond WA
International Classification:
G06F 21/53
G06F 21/51
G06N 3/02
G06F 21/62
G06F 9/455
Abstract:
Described herein is a system and method for utilizing a virtual secure mode instance to protect an artificial intelligence model from unauthorized access (e.g., inspection, copying) during execution of an application utilizing the AI model (e.g., training and/or inference) on a client device. An encrypted artificial intelligence model is received in a virtual secure mode instance of the client device. The encrypted artificial intelligence model is decrypted in the virtual secure mode instance using a decryption secret. The decrypted artificial intelligence model is stored in the virtual secure mode instance. An application that utilizes the decrypted artificial intelligence model is executed (e.g., training and/or inference) in the virtual secure mode instance.

US Patent:
20180365043, Dec 20, 2018
Filed:
Jun 16, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/625357
Inventors:
- Redmond WA, US
Sean Anderson BOWLES - Seattle WA, US
Shayak LAHIRI - Redmond WA, US
Tarun Kumar JAIN - Bothell WA, US
Prakash Ajay Kumar SURI - Sammamish WA, US
Yuhang ZHU - Bellevue WA, US
Adrian Francisco TERAN GUAJARDO - Redmond WA, US
International Classification:
G06F 9/455
G06F 9/44
G06F 9/445
Abstract:
Various technologies described herein pertain to evaluating configuration compliance of a computing device. The computing device operates in a configuration compliance evaluation mode to test a set of configuration requests for a configuration source. Configuration changes to the computing device can be applied in a virtual machine run on the computing device when operating in the configuration compliance evaluation mode. Responsive to each configuration request being received and when the computing device is operating in the configuration compliance evaluation mode, the computing device can store the configuration request in a data store, apply the configuration request in the virtual machine to cause a configuration change in the virtual machine, and store data for verifying enforcement of the configuration change in the data store. The configuration changes to the computing device applied in the virtual machine can be removed when the computing device discontinues operating in the configuration compliance evaluation mode.

Intelligent Deletion Of Revoked Data

View page
US Patent:
20170005809, Jan 5, 2017
Filed:
Jun 30, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/788377
Inventors:
- Redmond WA, US
Adrian F. Teran - Redmond WA, US
Yogesh A. Mehta - Redmond WA, US
John C. Spaith - Bellevue WA, US
Steve Roger May - Woodinville WA, US
International Classification:
H04L 9/32
H04L 29/06
Abstract:
A program on a device communicates with services of an organization and obtains data associated with the organization (also referred to as organization data). The organization data is optionally encrypted using one or more encryption keys, in which case the program has access to one or more decryption keys allowing the organization data to be decrypted and used at the device. Situations can arise in which the organization data stored on the device is to no longer be accessible to a user and/or the device, which is also referred to as the data being revoked. In response to organization data being revoked at the device, various techniques are used to intelligently delete the data, which refers to determining, based on the revocation that occurred and the nature of the data on the device, which data on the device is to be deleted from the device.
